Ultra-light, dries in a flash, and wicks away sweat without odor: it has become my essential basic. Ideal for day hikes as well as long treks.
2. The anti-UV long-sleeved shirt
Perfect for sun protection while maintaining good ventilation. Brands like Columbia or Quechua offer lightweight models with back vents. Great for exposed trails or very hot days.
3. The stretchy and ventilated hiking shorts
With zippered pockets and ultra-flexible fabric, it's my best ally in summer. Some models even have mesh inserts for added freshness. Bonus: they dry quickly after an impromptu swim in a stream!
4. The technical sports bra or underwear
It's not talked about enough, but good breathable underwear makes all the difference. No bothersome seams, no sticky fabric: just comfort, even with a heavily loaded backpack.
5. The ultra-light windbreaker jacket
Sometimes, even in summer, you might encounter a little wind or light rain. A water-repellent and breathable jacket like the H&M Move Shell Jacket or Decathlon's Raincut can be slipped into any bag without taking up space.
Bonus tip:
Always prioritize materials like recycled polyester, lightweight merino, or quick-drying fabrics. And avoid cotton, especially on long hikes: it retains moisture and promotes irritation.
